PUSSY KNOWS BEST
Pussy Knows Best operates at the intersection of performance, somatic inquiry, and feminist recontextualization, interrogating the cultural coding of the female body as both site of projection and control. Developed through a series of embodied practices, including mirror work and movement-based ritual, the project dismantles the inherited frameworks through which the body is typically mediated: sexuality, commodification, and spectacle. In their place, BARI advances a counter-proposal—the body as an autonomous system of intelligence, capable of generating clarity independent of social inscription.
Central to the work is the notion of “pussy intelligence”—a reframing of intuition as a locus of discernment rather than an abstract psychological phenomenon. By privileging sensation over cognition, the project destabilizes the hierarchy that positions the mind as the primary arbiter of truth. What results is not merely a reclamation, but a redistribution of power: an insistence that the very parts historically subjected to shame and control may function instead as a site of authorship, decision-making, and creative genesis. Pussy Knows Best thus reads as both personal mythology and cultural critique, an embodied refusal to outsource knowing.
